Thanks to everyone who visited our booth at the 2006 IFT Expo!
Visit us at the IFT Food Expo in 2007 to be held:
Exhibit Hours: Please stop by Booth # 3318. IFT's annual Food Expo is the premier business-to-business food-ingredient trade show and it is an excellent barometer of future consumer food trends as more and more ingredient companies are using the IFT Annual Meeting & Food Expo to define (or perhaps reshape) themselves to convey certain ideas or themes to their customers. Ingredients companies use the IFT show to test marketing themes and prototype product samples. IFT is the ingredients show where news and secrets becomes public - whether it is new products, new companies and exhibitors, existing products with subtle changes - all to reveal trends in product development priorities. Food processing equipment changes slowly because so many technologies are well established and it is hard to make dramatic development. However, the development of new membranes now enables membrane filtration to handle existing processing steps more efficient and economically and it enables previously un-realistic applications to become feasible new products - so for a change we really have some exciting news about processing equipment. GEA Filtration custom designs membrane filtration systems that best utilize the technologies of MF, UF, NF and RO for each customer's specific application. GEA Filtration is a world leader in the design, engineering, production, installation, support, and testing of filtration systems for the dairy, food, food ingredients, nutritional, beverage, and biotechnology industries, as well as for wastewater applications across the process industries. At this year's IFT Annual Food Expo, GEA Filtration will exhibit different types of membranes including:
The GEA Filtration Advantage: Process Testing, Development & Design. Some top membrane suppliers can work with clients beginning in the process development phase. A dairy or other food processor might wish to isolate a particular compound from a process stream because of valuable functional properties. Pilot testing will determine how best to isolate the particular component. Only a few membrane suppliers have process engineering expertise, and no membrane suppliers have process engineering expertise supplemented by applications centers and pilot plant facilities to help customers learn as much as possible about the compounds involved. We have a complete fleet of rental pilot plants which can be delivered directly to the customer's site to establish separation data. The usual procedure is to begin with a small pilot unit to screen various membranes for feasibility, and once the best type of membrane is determined, further testing on a unit specific to the membrane type will refine process parameters. Where the customer is looking at an established process with no testing required, the supplier's process engineers can design a plant and generate a proposal based on capacity and product quality. GEA Filtration will exhibit together with the following GEA business groups:
