Interphex 2004
March 16-18 2004
Jacob K. Javits Convention Center
New York

This year at the Interphex 2004 our booth will feature the following GEA Companies and Business Groups:

GEA Filtration
We are a world-leading supplier of cross-flow membrane filtration systems to the biotech, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries. We utilize ceramic, polymeric spiral wound, and stainless steel membranes in our nanofiltration, microfiltration, ultrafiltration, and reverse osmosis plants. Applications include: fermentation broth clarification/cell harvest; concentration, clarification, and demineralization of amino acids, antibiotics, enzymes and proteins; recovery of trace substances, CIP liquid and solvents; effluent treatment.

GEA Liquid Processing
GEA Liquid Processing originates from the former GEA Liquid Processing Division activities, notably Tuchenhagen North America, and will resume all process integration activities thereof. These activities typically start at the conceptual level with liquid process development, through detailed engineering, to manufacturing and delivery of modular liquid plants (i.e. valve matrices, solution make-up/delivery, proprietary drug manufacturing, purification / fermentation, CIP, etc.) and automation that can be integrated into a plant wide operation.

Niro Soavi
For some time Niro Soavi has set the standard for Very-High-Pressure (VHP) homogenizers for pharmaceutical and biotech applications. Our scope of supply ranges from table-top laboratory machines through to in-house designed and manufactured pilot-scale and production skid-mounted systems for cell lysing and particle size reduction applications. A typical system includes: VHP homogenizer, Product stuffing pump, Product cooler, Hard wired or PLC based control panel, Aseptic plunger and valve seals, Aseptic seal water condenser, CIP and SIP-able, cGMP compliant validation documentation package, Complete FAT and SAT. The skid systems are built to the requirements of the ASME BPE standards, and Niro Soavi manufactures the homogenizer units in compliance with the ISO 9001 QA program.

Niro Pharma Systems
We offer the single most comprehensive range of in-house designed and manufactured processing equipment to the pharmaceutical industry. This year at Interphex 2004 we will focus on Contained Systems Integration, from the liquid base through mixing, drying and granulation to tabletting - as cGMP increasingly require that product is fully contained during processing - not only to protect operators and environment but also to prevent cross-contamination. Added benefits of our systems integration includes improved productivity, increased yield, and efficient CIP though automation, process integration, and product know-how.

Courtoy
For over 80 years, Courtoy has been designing, building and servicing superior and versatile rotary tablet presses for the pharmaceutical and other industries. As a leader in technology and product innovation we have developed specific know-how such as 1) Weight control based on displacement measurement; 2) Special punch-tip and in-die lubrication systems; 3) Containment technology; 4) State-of-the-art double layer presses. The challenge of today is to reduce the production cost per tablet and to enhance the security of the operator against increasingly potent drugs and we have the answer: The MODUL™ that feature: 1) exchangeable dust-tight compression module; 2) exchangeable dust-tight charging pipe; 3) pinch-sealed, dust-tight interconnections; 4) closed system, no contamination of the room; 5) NO CLEANING OF THE MACHINE; 6) exchangeable compression module can be cleaned OFFLINE - manually or semi-automatically; 7) extremely fast change-over. The result being:

  • Extremely short downtime
  • High flexibility: Different batches/products can be run in one day
  • The system is designed to process high potent products

Tuchenhagen Flow Components
Flow Components division offer the single most comprehensive range of sanitary mixproof, single-seat, divert, sample, pressure relief and modulating control valves. Also in the Flow Components range is inline instrumentation, cleaning devices, and aseptic pipe fittings.

Leading Technologies. Individual Solutions.
